History of SOL Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated on 29th December, 1983 at Hyderabad. It took over the field operations of Pharmaceutical division of Standard Organics limited & started the business of manufacturing and selling of formulations in 1984. For marketing Specialised products, a new marketing division by name `Medinova' was formed in 1986.

The Comp. manufactures & undertakes the marketing of large range of formulations of liquid orals, injections, sustained released capsules, haematinics, tablets & antibiotic capsules, protein tonics,etc. The Comp. also exports it products.

During 1985-86, 7 new products were launched & were received well in the market. In 1986-87, two new products `Medipani' & `Solzes' were launched in the market. Drugs such as cardioselective beta blocker, cytroprotective anticules drugs, calcium antagonists & newer antimicrobials were planned for introduction in 1987. During 1988-89, two new products, Clamp injection and Danemox Kid Forte Tablets were introduced.

During 1987-88, 3 companies viz. SOL Drugs Ltd; Dexo Pharma Pvt.Ltd; & Dakshin Pharmaceuticals Ltd; were amalgamated with the Company.

It has emerged as one of largest manufacturer of Semi Synthetic Penicillin. It is the market leader in major paediatiric antibiotic formulations & sustained release anti asthmatics. Besides the group has proposal for setting up joint ventures in Nigeria, Mexico and Malaysia for bulk drugs & formulations.
