Bhoruka Gases United, was promoted in 1974 in the joint sector by Shri S.N. Agarwal through Transport Corporation of India Ltd.[TCIs] & Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation Ltd [KSIIDCs]. The Company, originally incorporated under the name Karnataka Oxygen Limited, changed to its present name in 1990 after KSIIDC disinvested its shareholding.
The Company, an existing, profit making & dividend paying company, is one of largest manufacturers of high quality industrial gases in South India- producing a wide range of Industrial Gases like Oxygen [both in liquid & gaseous forms], Nitrogen [In Liquid & Gaseous Forms], Argon [Including UHP & TL Grade Argons] Hydrogen, Dissolved Acetylene, Mixture Gases, & Calibration Gases. The Company, for year 1994-95, has achieved a Sales Turnover of Rs.1437.73 Lakhs & the PAT of Rs.157.82 Lakhs, as against Rs.1147.58 Lakhs & Rs.130.48 Lakhs, respectively, for year 1993-94.
The first oxygen plant of Comp. with a capacity of 140 cubic metres [Cu.Ms] per hour was commissioned in 1975. Subsequently, dissolved acetylene plant of 40 Cu.M per hour capacity & hydrogen plant of 40 Cu.M per hour capacity were commissioned in 1976 & 1982, respectively. In 1984, the Comp. commissioned an imported second hand air separation plant from Aga AB, Sweden, with a capacity of 800 Cu.M per hour & emerged as one of largest industrial gas manufacturer in South India. In 1991, the Comp. took up manufacture of calibration gases - an import substitute. The Comp. supplies complete range of industrial gases & has established good rapport with its customers for quality of its products & services. Of late, the Comp. has been laying more emphasis on the manufacture of value added products like high purity, speciality & calibration gases.
Since continuous power supply is essential for running the air separation Plant, the Comp. undertook a project to install captive DG Sets of capacity of 3.00 MW during April, 1993. This has helped the Comp. in not only ensuring uninterrupted power supply but also in substantially improving the quality of products.
Apart from this the Comp. has also entered into an agreement with Bhoruka Power Corporation Ltd.[BPCLs] one of Group companies engaged in generation of Hydel power, in terms of which BPCL will supply minimum power of 5 lakh units [kwhs] per month from April 1994 to March 1999 to ensure additional power supply for proposed air separation plant. BPCL commenced its operations the year 1992-93 & has an installed capacity of 18MW.
2002-Bhoruka Gases Ltd has informed the following changes. [1s]. Ms Uma Agarwal, a Whole Time Director of Comp. has resigned from the Board w e f June 24, 2002 [2s]. Mr M Srivastava has been appointed as an Executive Director of Comp. w e f June 26, 2002. [3s]. Mr K Gururaj, the Managing Director of Comp. has submitted his resignation & will be laying down his office on December 31, 2002.

-Bhuruka Gases Ltd has decided to change the Registrar and Transfer Agent [RTAs] from M/s. Kirloskar Computer Services Ltd to M/s. Can Bank Computer Services Ltd with effect from January 01, 2006.
